The Miss Universe 2013 has finally named the 5 most gorgeous ladies in the universe Saturday night at Crocus City Hall in Moscow, Russia (Sunday morning – MLA time).
The 86 lovely candidates were trimmed down to 16 finalists but the host country’s bet Miss Russia Elmira Abdrazakova was not able to make it on the first cut. Miss Philippines Ariella Arida, meanwhile, completed the list giving the Filipinos a nerve-racking experience.
Arida, later on made it to the top 10 giving her the chance to showcase once again her simple yet elegant yellow evening gown, but this time with her hair down as requested by a lot of fans.
It is not the end for Arida as she bagged a spot on the Top 5 making it to the Question and Answer Round of the competition.
Here’s the full transcript of the Question & Answer Round
Question for Miss Venezuela was, “What is your biggest fear and how do you plan to overcome it?
Her Answer was: “We should overcome all our fears and this in turn would make us stronger. As soon as we overcome our fears, we can face any challenge.”
Miss Philippines Ariella Arida made it to the Top 5 and has the strongest cheer from the crowd in Russia too. Her question at the final round was, “What can be done about the lack of jobs for young people starting their careers around the world?”
“For the people who have lack of jobs, I do believe that we people should invest in education and that is my primary advocacy, because we all know that if everyone of us is educated and well aware of what we are doing, we could land into jobs and we could land a good career in the future. Education is the primary source and ticket to a better future.”
Question for Spain: “What is the most significant thing we can do help elect women to political offices around the world?”
“In order to select a good woman, she must posses good qualities in order to do a good job – discipline, knows how to adapt… so she can fulfill her job.”
Question for Brazil: “What is your opinion in places that do not allow women to vote, or drive cars?”
Miss Brazil Answer: “Good evening everybody! In my opinion, we as women achieved our independence through time. Unfortunately nowadays we still have problems with our independence. But we need to keep our open minds because nowadays we are homemakers, part of a work force. In our country, our president is a woman. We are capable of everything,” she answered.
Question for Ecuador: “What would happen to the world if we could no longer use the internet?”
Tech has disadvantages – “We are no longer close with our families. We use the methodology of computers and internet for the positive. It is never too later to start,” was her answer.
