LET Results - September 2013

The results for the September 2013 Licensure Examination for Teachers are now posted. A total of 19,384 elementary teachers out of 62,160 examinees (31%) passed the Licensure Exam for Teachers (LET). As for High school or secondary, a total of 25,755 secondary teachers out of 64, 792 examinees (39%) passed.

Top Performing Schools

Together with the LET results are the top schools for the September 2013 LET.

Last year on September 2013, several schools were applauded as the top performing education schools in the Philippines. For elementary level West Visayas State University La Paz (WVSU), University of Santo Tomas(UST), Cebu Technological University – Argao, Philippine Normal University (PNU), Bohol Island State University (BISU) and Xavier University. For secondary level: University of Santo Tomas (US), University of the Philippines – Diliman (UPD), Philippines Normal University (PNU), Xavier University and Saint Louis University (SLU) – Top 5 for Secondary Level.

On March 2013, the following schools topped the list: Talisay City College (Elementary); University of the Philippines – Diliman(UPD), Saint Louis University (SLU), University of Santo Tomas (UST), University of San Carlos (USC), Pamantasan ng Lungsod ng Maynila (PLM) and Technological University of the Philippines-Cavite – Secondary.

Oathtaking & Registration

Registration for the issuance of Professional Identification Card (ID) and Certificate of Registration will start on December 6, 2013

According to the PRC, the requirements for the issuance of COR and ID are the following: 1) duly accomplished Oath Form or Panunumpa ng Propesyonal; 2) latest Community Tax Certificate (Cedula); 3) 1 piece 1” x 1” picture (colored with white background and complete name tag); 4) 2 pieces 2” x 2” picture (colored with white background and complete name tag); 5) metered documentary stamp for the Oath Form; and 6) the Initial Registration Fee of P600 and Annual Registration Fee of P450 for 2013-2016.

About September 2013 LET

According to the Professional Regulation Commission (PRC) a total of 128,083 teachers took the exams. Citing the same report, the bulk of takers came from Metro Manila with an estimated 29,151 examinees followed by Davao with 12,815 examinees.

PRC said that the September 2013 LET was given in the cities of Manila, Baguio, Batanes, Cagayan de Oro, Cebu, Davao, Iloilo, Laoag, Legazpi, Lucena, Masbate, Pagadian, Palawan, Romblon, Rosales, Tacloban and Tuguegarao.

The members of the Board of Professional Teachers who gave examinations are Dr. Rosita L. Navarro, Chairperson; Dr. Paz I. Lucido, Vice Chairperson; Paraluman R. Giron and Nora M. Uy, Members.

The examination consists of two parts. For elementary, the subjects were as follows: General Education (40%) and Professional Education (60%) and three (3) parts for Secondary: General Education (20%), Professional Education (40%) and Specialization (40%).

For secondary, the subjects depend on the chosen course: English, Filipino, Biological Sciences, Physical Sciences, Mathematics, Social Studies or Social Sciences, Values Education, MAPEH, Agriculture and Fishery Arts and TLE (Technology and Livelihood Education).

PRC and Board of Professional Teachers said that in order to pass September 29, 2013 LET, an examinee must obtain an average rating of not less than 75% and must have no rating lower than 50% in any of the tests.

Expected release date

When will the results be out? The PRC says that after 40-45 days, the LET results are expected to be out. In the same period last year, the results were officially released after 42 working days with 25, 136 elementary teachers and 20,834 secondary teachers.

Last March 2013, LET results were posted after 27 working days. PRC announced that 10,310 elementary teachers and 15,223 secondary teachers passed the exam.

The LET results will probably be released on the second or fourth week of November 2013.
